Auto shops repairing cars that got bad gasoline

By KSEE News

Auto shops had lots of customers today trying to get their cars fixed after filling up with gas on Friday that was tainted with diesel fuel. The repairs can be costly, but the company that pumped the bad fuel into gas station tanks is paying for the repairs.

In most cases, cars needed to have their tanks pumped out and things such as fuel filters and carburetors replaced. The repairs cost anywhere from $200 to $500 dollars.

Mechanics told KSEE 24 News that there shouldn't be any long lasting or permanent problems caused by the tainted gasoline.
