Home foreclosures up 65 percent from last year

In April there were 243,353 homes nationwide facing foreclosure. This number has increased 65 percent from the same time last year. California ranks second in the nation for the amount of bank owned homes, with one in every 204 households facing foreclosure. The highest foreclosures rate for a metropolitan area nation wide is Merced with one in every 66 households in some part of the foreclosure process.
