Fresno County Deputy Involved Shooting

By KSEE News

A Fresno county sheriff's deputy responded to the Cedar and Central after receiving a 911 hang up call. The deputy made contact with the caller, who was concerned about a suspicious vehicle in the area.

The deputy approached the vehicle and said the man inside came at him with a knife. The deputy shot the man four times in the chest. The officer performed CPR on the man, but he did not survive.

Family members have identified the victim as 40-year-old Sergio Rojas. They said he was on the property because he had been drinking. The family said he was a contractor who worked on that property for many years.
