UPDATE: Merced homicide suspect committed suicide

The Merced County Sheriff's Department says a man wanted for the murder of a woman has committed suicide. Police were looking for 25-year-old Christopher Marberry. He was the suspect in the murder of 29-year-old Ramona Schmitz. She was found shot to death in her home Monday morning. Her 6 year old daughter told a neighbor that Marberry had shot her mother. Today, sheriff's deputies found Schmitz stolen car in a peach orchard in Delhi. The body of a man matching Marberry's description was found in the car, the victim of an apparent suicide. Tuesday afternoon the sheriff's department said they positively identified the body as being Marberry.

Chris was very talented in every thing he did..We grew up riding BMX together and he was the best of the whole gang..Same with fishing which he also loved to do..I am shocked to hear this since he had soo much going for him. We love you Chris and we will miss you forever!!! R.I.P.

not only did her 6 yr old witness this tragic crime her 6 wk old daughter was in the room right next to her ... imagine the life these two children will now have to lead because of this tragedy
