July 8, 2012 Updated Jul 8, 2012 at 8:34 AM PDT

Three thieves broke into a beauty store in the early hours of Saturday morning and made off with six duffel bags-full of human hair extensions.

The determined criminals battered through a wall at 35th Street Beauty Supply in Chicago, dodged motion detectors by crawling along the floor and ripped wiring out of the alarm system to get at their loot.

They stole $230,000 worth of the store's most expensive merchandise, leading owner Don Shin to believe the extensions were pinched with the intension of being sold on the street or to salons.
