"Five Dollar Fridays" is sponsored by the Downtown Association of Fresno and will be available at participating restaurants every Friday into the fall.

The way it works, is each week, each participating restaurant offers the best option from their menu for five bucks.

Promoters say it's a way for people to save money on gas, on lunch and maybe even find a new restaurant to eat at with friends and co-workers.

They also say its one of the many valley-wide events that support healthy air living week.

All together, 16 restaurants are currently participating in “Five Dollar Fridays,” with more coming soon.
