Fresno police call attention to unsolved homicides
When a murder goes unsolved, family and friends are often left, not only grieving, but searching for justice. The Fresno Police Department along with the “Mothers for Justice” organization came forward Tuesday, asking for the public's help in several unsolved homicides. Six shootings which all took place between 1999 and 2007 were discussed during the news conference. Police are still actively investigating all of the cases, but have yet to make any arrests. Last February the police department released video evidence in one of the unsolved cases, hoping someone would come forward. In March of 2007, Danny Estrada had just gotten off of work and was stopping to get milk for his daughter. Right before entering the store, some sort of confrontation between Estrada and an unknown suspect took place. As Estrada left the store, the suspect again confronted him. The suspect shot Estrada dead in broad daylight. Chief Dyer said the department has yet to receive any tips from the surveillance video. Investigators and loved ones are hopeful that by continuing to keep the cases in the public eye, justice will be served. Most Popular |
