Lawmakers Speak Out On Approved Bailout Plan

By KSEE News

The revised bailout plan was approved Friday morning. The U.S. Congress agreed to a revised $700 billion dollar package to bail out financial institutions.

The newly revised bill is slightly different from the bill lawmakers voted on Monday. Congressman George Radanovic says the new bill added certain earmarks and included tax credits for renewable energy.

"There were some good things added to it like tax extenders. Unfortunately though it made the bill more expensive," said Radanovic.

Congressman Devin Nunes voted against the bill on Monday and did the same on Friday.

"My problem with this is we are transferring $700 billion of power to one man. This is a very dangerous step," said Nunes.

I disagree with bailing out financial instuions, it is their fault that they over extended them selves and I do not think that the American people should pay for their mistakes.
