Homicide Victim's "Craig's List" Connection

Police have found the Mustang that Charles Murphy was trying to sell. An off duty Fresno Sheriff's Dept. Community Services Officer found the car abandoned at the corner of Blackstone and Barstow.

Charles Parrish Murphy was trying to sell his 1990 red Ford Mustang so; he posted an ad on the popular website, “Craig’s list”.

His family members say the last time they saw him alive was on Saturday night around 6pm, just before he went to meet a potential buyer.

His body was found Sunday morning in an almond orchard at Fruit and Central in Fresno County.

Murphy's car, a 1990 red Ford Mustang has yet to be found.

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives say finding this car is “key” to their investigation.

The car is described as a 1990 convertible red Ford Mustang.
It has a white top, white interior and chrome rims.
The California license plate number is 6EUS257.

Murphy, who investigators say was in the business of buying cars and then fixing them up to sell, met potential buyers online through "craigslist".

Monday night, Murphy’s family was trying to cope with his death, knowing there’s a possibility it could have been prevented.

This homicide sparked detectives to warn of the dangers of “blind meetings” noting, this could have happened to anyone.

Fresno County Sheriff’s investigators are asking the public to call crime stoppers at #498-STOP if they’ve seen the Mustang or have any information about Murphy’s whereabouts on Saturday evening.
