Parking woes near Big Fresno Fair

By KSEE News

A word of warning - watch where you park when going to the Big Fresno Fair. Several viewers contacted KSEE 24 News to complain they were told it was o.k. to park in a parking lot at a McDonalds near the fairgrounds, only to have their cars towed away. One man we talked to was a customer at the McDonalds, but has his car towed away 45 minutes after he went inside the restaurant.

He also said other patrons of the restaurant complained their cars were towed away as well. The restaurant uses Multani's Towing, and KSEE 24 found several of Multani's tow trucks parked at the restaurant, and we saw several cars towed away, The company referred us to their lawyer for a comment, but we did not get one.

I was a witness to this, the gentlemen who filled this complaint was lying on several accounts. I do not work for the tow company, or mcdonalds, but was there when this incident happened. He parked his car, never went inside mcdonalds, then came back 5 hours later complaining that his car was gone. He was never told that he could park there. Mcdonalds doesnt let anyone that is not a customer park in their parking lot. Mcdonalds is good but not good enough to spend 5 hours their. Good luck buddy!

What Lady Q wrote is correct, the towing company must have written authorization from management to tow anybodys vehicles off of private property. The release is called a "PRIVATE PROPERTY RELEASE FORM" And there is alot of people who stay at Mc Donalds longer then 45 minutes. All anybody has to do is show there reciept and make MC Donalds pay the towing fee!

Yes they do! They got wi-fi access and I've stayed at Mickey D's for over hour. I hope that tow company gets it!

Um, some people do stay for more than 45 minutes. I saw a sign that read parking is permitted upto 90 minutes, does it matter how long people stay there if they dont go over the permited time and are customers?? I think not hunnie, would you like your car towed if you met the permitted criteria and abided by their rules? Probablly didnt have written authorization even to tow which is required by law from the property owner.
