A desperate search is still on for a Lemoore man, accused of nearly killing his wife, but the couple's two children have been found.

This all began around 10:45 Thursday night in this field on the corner of Dogwood and Persimmon, just a few streets over from where the suspect and his family lives.

This is where police say 36-year-old, José Orellana stabbed his wife, and then took off with their two kids, 7-year-old Eduardo Orellana and 3-year-old Julisa Arevalo in the family pick-up truck.

Police say his wife then stumbled across the street to this house, pleading for help.

John Carrow, Ddialed 911: "We were just sitting here, watching TV, playing’ with the kids, next thing I know, the doorbell is ringing."

At first John Carrow thought someone was playing a trick on him, but he says it wasn't until he saw the extent of Roxana Arevalo's injuries that he knew this was no joke.

Carrow: "I'd never seen her before. All I know is she ran the doorbell and then we answered the door.

Preston Phillips: “And you guys called 911?”

Carrow: “Mmm hmm."

But what Carrow didn't realize at the time, is that the woman's husband, 36-year-old, José Orellana had allegedly tried to stab her to death in a field directly across the street, just minutes before, that's when police say Orellana fled with the couple's two young children in the family pick-up truck.

Shortly after, an amber alert was issued throughout the state.

Lisa Roark, Lives across from Orellana family: “Kind of shocking, you just don’t know what to think."

But around 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, authorities in Castro Valley located both children, safe inside the pick-up.

Now they remain in custody of Alameda County tonight.

But Orellana they say is still no where to be found.

One neighbor, who is also a close friend with Orellana's wife, says he could be headed out of the state.

She says he's a trucker and has been known to make frequent trips to Portland, Oregon.

For safety reasons, she's asked not to be identified.

Orellana’s Neighbor: "I do know when he drives his truck, he does make trips to Oregon. He’s made several trips to Oregon over two week, 10 day periods."
She also describes Orellana as a very controlling man, and says he's always been very guarded about who he was and where he came from.

Tonight, she and other neighbors say they're just trying to cope, knowing their dear friend remains in the hospital, fighting for her life.

Jose Orellana is a 36-year-old Hispanic man, who stands 5’9” tall and weighs about 190 pounds.

Authorities consider him armed and dangerous and say if you come across him, do not confront him, but rather dial 911.
