By KSEE News

The police chief for the city of Los Banos has not been at work for nearly 4 months, and no one is saying why he is gone. The city manager said he can't comment, but confirmed that Chief Chris Gallagher is being paid and is not on any kind of official leave. The acting police chief would only tell KSEE 24 News that the situation with the police chief is "a complicated matter." Neighbors say they have seen the chief coming and going from his home. Many Los Banos residents want to know why the chief is not on the job. Gallagher became the Los Banos police chief about one-and-a-half years ago.
