Police Name Suspect in Fresno Double Shooting

Police began their search Friday for 21-year-old Carl Joseph Oliver, Jr. He was wanted for a parole violation but now faces more serious charges including murder and attempted murder.

Oliver is believed to be responsible for the double shooting that happened at 4 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of S. Backer. Police said Oliver is a validated Bulldog Gang member with an extensive criminal history for vehicle theft, robbery, receiving stolen property and battery.

Oliver is also wanted for an attempted armed robbery that occurred last week in the 400 block of S. Maple. Police said the suspect demanded a vehicle from a woman, while holding a handgun, but fled when the victim yelled for her husband.

The handgun allegedly used in both crimes has been recovered. Anyone with information about this crime or Oliver's whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 498-STOP.

That loser was all methed out and killed my brother MICHAEL RAYMOND RIVERA-SANTIAGO who was NOT A GANG MEMBER he was a good friend, brother, son, uncle.
