The Valley Center for the Blind may soon close its doors because of financial trouble. The center has been open for 35 years and organizers fear it may not last another two weeks.

The center's priority is to assist the blind and visually impaired regain their confidence and independence.

"We lost one of our grants that we usually get every year because they changed the priorities," said Millie Marshall, who works with the center.

Marshall says that's a state grant valued at more than $100,000.

Hundreds of blind and visually impaired people will no longer get help. Marshall says this also means instructors who work there are also now out of a job.
