Executive Director of the F.C.C.A.P. Esther Franco says while funding is key to their advocacy and referral efforts...It takes a courageous parent to admit they have a problem and seek help.
In this edition of Central Valley Focus, Franco admits...all to often their agency is dealing with abuse after the fact.
So here are 8 things you can do to prevent child abuse...
...Volunteer your time... To help vulnerable children.
...Discipline your children thoughtfully...Not when your upset.
...Examine your behavior...Abuse is not just physical.
...Educate yourself about available support programs for parents and kids.
...Teach children their rights.
...Know what child abuse is.
...Know the signs, physical signs aren't the only signs.
...Report all abuse, whether it's in your home or not.
