There may be a link between migraine headaches and obesity.
A Drexel Univ. study measured the waists of 22,000 people and found those with bigger waistlines had more migraines or severe headaches than those not considered obese.
Fresno Neurologist Dr. Melvin Helm agrees migraine headaches are more severe in the obese. He says weight loss is often suggested when treating individuals suffering from migraines.

I've suffered from 24/7 non stop severe headaches and migraines for almost 28 years now. When they started I weighed 112 pounds. I totally disagree with this statement. Currently I take Topomax to keep the migraines at bay and this mostly works. The daily non stop headache is not affected by this. My weight currently is 130 lbs. My BMI at 5'4" is supposed to be in the average range. I've seen multiple drs and therapy available. Only possibility left is too loose them after menopause. Sincerely.
