It was a wild morning in the RiverPark area of NE Fresno on Saturday. A man who allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo bank at First and Friant was chased by police across U.S. 41, shot at by police, and eventually arrested near a Marriott hotel. No one was hurt in the incident, and a man identified as Claudy Philidor was taken in to custody.
It all started shortly before 10 a.m. with the robbery at the bank. The suspect was chased in his car, which he abandoned in a parking lot near the Kohls store in RiverPark. The suspect then ran up an embankment and when police thought he was going for a gun, they shot at him, but missed. He ran across the highway and was eventually captured.
