There was a change of command on Thursday at the Fresno U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion. Lt. Col. Richard Ellis turned over his command to Lt. Col. Richard Rivera. Lt. Col. Ellis told KSEE 24 News that recruitment in the Central Valley is rising, and is not just being driven by the economy. He said there is a long tradition of military service in Central Valley families that leads many young men to join the Army.
