A patron wants to know what happens to the confiscated marijuana the law enforcement takes? Is it burned on the spot, taken for evidence, sent to medical schools?

John Coctose, the couple in Kerman were growing marijuana under illegal conditions, and so they fell victim to the Prohibition induced violence we have because of today's drug laws. If the growth and sale of cannabis were taxed and regulated we would not have criminals stalking people who are growing marijuana because it will be easier to obtain through legal means.

Actually, California's and federal laws do not conflict as much as individual agency decisions whether or not to pursue marijuana growers. Many California counties have opted not to pursue charges against growers because of prosecution difficulties that arise due to California medical marijuana laws. Many illegal growers hide behind medical marijuana grower cards only to illegally sell there product in the end. Legal, taxed marijuana will be very expensive ensuring a continued black market .

If we had a place to got to get Medicine Fresno these people that were killed in Kerman sir may not have had to grow there own thus putting them in no danger. Unfortunatly we do not have Safe access in fresno.Legalization and taxation is the only answer look back at the alcohal experiment.here are 3 links that prove the drug czar wrong. http://www.mpp.org/assets/pdfs/download-materials/MMJArgumentsNov08.pdf

I like this reporter. I hope KSEE 24 keeps him around.

Yea...smart idea Tommy. Let people grow it themselves. You see what a good idea it turned out to be for the couple in Kerman who were growing their own in their house. Where there are drugs violence will follow. Legalization and taxiation is not the answer.

The solution to our problems with our forests being destroyed by illegal marijuana planting is simple... Take marijuana farming out of the hands of the drug cartels by taxation and regulation. Allow legitimate American farmers to grow the cash crop, and tax the sale of the product to adults. Makes sense to me.

The problem is we have conflicting laws between Federal and state jurisdictions. We legalize marijuana, then blame the growers, buyers, sellers, and users. Legalizing it would probably benefit society more, but if not, repeal the law that acts under the pretense of legalizing the drug. Just don't put two conflicting and supposedly vallid laws out their and complain about the crime.
