The Fresno Philharmonic presents The 5 Browns , a family of pianists, who will be performing at the Saroyan Theatre Thursday, October 15. This morning on KSEE Sunrise we talked with Fresno Philharmonic executive director Don Reinhold about the upcoming performance and private reception.
Meet The 5 Browns -- Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae – at the special reception at Fresno Piano this Wednesday. There will be opportunities to mingle, for CD signing, and to enjoy refreshments. The reception is hosted and sponsored by Fresno Piano, who will also provide the 5 Steinway pianos for The 5 Browns concert the following evening.
Fresno Piano is located at 4254 N. Fresno Street, just north of Ashlan Ave. and parking is available behind the store. The reception will begin at 7:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm, Wednesday, October 14, 2009. The reception is free, but an RSVP is required by calling (559) 226-0793.
The Browns have discovered that nearly a third of their audience has seldom, if ever, attended a concert of classical music, while another third is college-age or younger. With young fans waiting patiently as long as an hour after performances to get the 5 Browns' autographs, greeting the fans is especially important and rewarding to the quintet. This is why there will be an opportunity to meet the talented artists at the reception and for audiences to ask the 5 Browns questions at the concert next Thursday.
These five sibling pianists that conquer the music scene with sold-out performances worldwide and make classical music cool will play the following evening at the Saroyan Theatre, presented by the Fresno Philharmonic on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 7:30 pm. The 5 Browns are an unprecedented concert attraction in the music world: a singular quintet of world-class concert pianists, performing on five pianos and various ensemble combinations, dedicated to bringing classical music to the lives of people everywhere.
Tickets for the concert on Thursday begin at $20 and can be purchased online at Fresnophil.org or by calling the Fresno Philharmonic Box Office at (559) 261-0600.

“One family, five pianos, and fifty fingers add up to the biggest classical music sensation in years…”
