It's a 'thorny issue' says Fresno's Mayor on the city's attempt to restructure the Grizzlies lease at Chukchansi Park. The park and it's tenant are a main cog in downtown vitality and this whole topic of revitalization hinges on maintaining baseball, but at what price? In this Central Valley Focus Jon Brent attempts to pin the mayor down on just how much of the million and half dollar lease city taxpayers will give back to the Grizzlies to keep them in town.

Why keep shelling out taxpayer’s money for a seemingly small group of diehard baseball fans. Look at the attendance. Look at the gimmicks to draw fans. They practically have to pay people to come and watch the Grizzlies play. If this was such a successful venture then I wouldn't even be writing this comment.
