Family Mourns Death of Merced Soldier

A soldier from Merced has been killed in Iraq.
Private First Class Lukas Hopper was killed in a vehicle accident while on duty in Iraq.
The 20 year old had been in Iraq for more than a year, and was only nine days from coming home.
Tonight, his family is remembering him as a loving son, and brother, who did things on his own terms.
Governor Schwarzenegger made a statement, saying, “He will be remembered for his courage and dedication as he put his life on the line to protect the freedoms of our country."
