A Clovis City councilman is looking to move up in California’s political ranks.
Wednesday morning, Councilman Bob Whalen announced plans to run for the 29th assembly seat.
Whalen is a long time member of the Republican Party, who’s led the fight against higher taxes and wasteful spending.
If elected he says he wants to bring back accountability to the state and focus on budget stability and crime prevention.
Whalen is looking to replace current Assemblyman Mike Villines who will be termed out next year.
