The incident started Thursday morning, when Clovis Police received a call about a man with a gun. Officers arrived at the undisclosed location and the pursuit began. Police followed the suspect vehicle into northeast Fresno and then into southeast Fresno.
According to authorities, the suspect vehicle stopped at Thomas and Willow. A Clovis officer attempted to confront the two men in the vehicle and then for an unknown reason, the officer opened fire, shooting both men.
The unidentified men were rushed to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown. The police officer was not injured.
Because the incident ended in a county island the Fresno County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation.
