City Council Approves Fresno Grizzlies Lease Agreement

The proposal was pitched two weeks ago. Fresno city council members finally swung at it tonight, although reluctantly, but recognized how vital this lease agreement would be to a downtown home run. Fans decked the council chambers in black and orange to show their support, and can now look ahead to opening day 2010.

The Grizzlies ownership group should be ashamed of themselves. The city of Fresno gave them a sympathy vote on approving the lease after the ownership group ran the Falcons into the ground. What a shame.
