Radanovich Not To Seek Reelection

Long time Valley congressman George Radanovich says he will not seek reelection.
The eight term republican congressman from Mariposa says he needs to place his family first and his public service career second.
Radanovich’s wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer three years ago.
He has missed several votes over the past month which he says was caused by his wife’s illness.
Following weeks of speculation, former Fresno Mayor Jim Patterson officially announced his candidacy today.
Radanovich has endorsed State Senator Jeff Denham to run for the seat.
Both republican candidates say they will begin campaigning after the first of the year.
On the democratic side, Fresno native Les Marsden has already declared his candidacy.
