Sheriff Margaret Mims hired an attorney from Southern California to help in her case against Fresno County. The attorney says what the Board of Supervisors is doing is unconstitutional. Board supervisors say it's a matter of public safety.

The most disturbing part of this whole situation is the fact that Margaret Mims campaigned when she ran for sheriff that she wouldn't release a single unsentenced felon. When questioned about this last year in Aug. Mims said she had stuck to her word & no criminals who hadn't been sentenced on their felony crime had been released. That may have been the case at the time, but not anymore. The Sheriff's own website (www.fresnosheriff.org)shows released unsentenced felons. It's time for a recall! What good is a sheriff that can't keep their word. It's disturbing that a person who's in charge of public safety doesn't realize that the jail isn't being used what its intended for which is housing FELONS. Mims might be able to afford the life of luxury outside the city of Fresno where most of these felons are being released, but I know most of us cant. It's time for change. RECALL MIMS!!

Rlincoln-When all these inmates are released early, we'll make sure to send them to your neighborhood to committ their new crimes..and the people Mims is sending to the unemployment line are now becoming the burden of the state of CA and tax payers like you.

Perea and the his SEIU Bosses are fear mongering. The recession isn’t over, some say there may be a second drop. With revenues going down, costs going up and the Board of Supervisors giving raises to SEIU, Fresno County will have to make more cuts and therefore more layoffs. Even Walmart recently announced layoffs. Henry Perea is trying to save SEIU jobs, which the county cannot afford and he's spinning the issue as "Public Safety". Perea doesn’t complain about the juvenile criminals being released from juvenile hall every day? Why not? Last time I checked, violating the Constitution is what dictators do. The Sheriff is doing the heavy lifting, meeting her fiscal challenges and fighting for our constitution. The Board needs to tell SEIU our County cannot afford the costs; more concessions and layoffs are needed. The Board must have the courage to tell the public that county services will be curtailed or eliminated. Henry Perea and the Union Bosses need to stop fear mongering.
