A Madera man has died after what may be an alcohol-related collision at Highway 99 and Shaw.

The crash happened this morning just before 6.

CHP says the driver of a white pickup was heading south on 99 at about 35mph.

He swerved into a concrete wall, then crossed the freeway, hitting the center divider.

He came to a stop in the middle of the highway And got out of his truck.

That's when a big rig collided with the pickup, knocking it into the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP says fog may be to blame, and that the driver of the pickup had been drinking.
