AJ's Forecast

February 18, 2013 Updated Feb 18, 2013 at 5:21 PM PDT

Winter is not over yet! Increasing clouds overnight. Wind advisory for the west side of the valley until 10pm Monday. Winter weather advisory AND winter storm warnings in effect over the Sierra Nevada through Kern County Mountains Tuesday until 10pm. Rain returns Tuesday. This is a fast moving storm and it carries with it a good amount of cold air. Temperatures will drop significantly. Snow levels will start at 4000 feet and drop to 2500 over the Sierra Nevada. 3000 feet in the Kern County Mountains. It is likely the Grapevine will be closed for a time. (That's unofficial - but I suspect it will happen) Rain for the valley floor - about a quarter inch. Snow for the mountains - anywhere from 3 inches to a foot depending on elevation.
