Two Fresno police officers were injured in a bizarre incident in a north east Fresno neighborhood on Thursday morning.

Police were responding to a call near Chestnut and Fremont about a suspicious vehicle in the area. When officers arrived three people - a man, woman, and 7 year old child - asleep in a black SUV.

Upon investigating, officers discovered the man had an arrest warrant and attempted to apprehend him. The man then tried to drive off, but one of the officers grabbed the wheel of the vehicle causing it to go out of control and crash into a home.

The man was eventually apprehended and taken into custody.

The accident caused a minor gas leak which led to the evacuation of some homes in the area.

The injuries suffered by the officers appear to me minor.
