It’s back-to-school time across America and as kids head back to the classroom, apps for smartphones and tablets are a big part of their education these days. But even preschoolers are now able to tap into the educational power of apps with some innovative tech tools that will help them get ready when their time eventually comes.

Thanks to a slew of fun and educational apps from a company called Learning Gems, preschoolers and early elementary students are having fun learning the basics they’ll need when they are old enough for the classroom or move on to advanced grades.

We’re talking memory games, spelling games, piggy bank coin counting, math skills, colors and shapes and flashcard learning apps that can be played on smartphones and tablets.

The games are available for most devices and are free or very reasonably priced.

Little kids love them. Graphics and animation and backgrounds involving cute animals, space adventures or pirate themes challenge children to drag objects around the screen, matching symbols, typing vocabulary words or playing games that turn play time into learning time by developing… brain power.
