The California Highway Patrol is on the lookout for the driver of a Chevy Impala who fatally struck a man near Visalia on Sunday night before leaving the scene of the accident.
Officers say the victim, who is from Orosi but has yet to be identified, was walking northbound on Avenue 80 when he entered the roadway in front of the driver who was traveling westbound.
The driver struck the man causing fatal injuries and then fled the scene. Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the incident and are still searching for the driver.
