Closing arguments began Tuesday in the trial of two Fresno brothers accused in a double murder. Teenage brothers Jarrad and Jerry Beard are accused of killing Justin Hesketh and Brandon Moore back in December. Defense attorneys say the Beard brothers were targeted because they were black. They say they fired in self-defense. Tuesday, the prosecution discounted that claim in its closing arguments.

Police say the brothers have admitted to the crime, but have also entered "not guilty" pleas. Both the victims and the defendants are accused of using drugs.

The defense attorneys will continue their closing arguments, Wednesday. It will then be up to the jury to decide the fate of the Beard brothers.
