There's a lot of excitement at St. Anthony's in Fresno. The school has tickets to the Justin Bieber concert and the word started spreading on Friday.
7th grader Maria Lopez said, "I heard about it at recess today."
8th grade student Kyera Franklin said, "when I found out I started screaming because everyone told us the tickets were sold out."
The concert is sold out and these tickets aren't for sale either. They're more of an incentive. The grand prize in a race to sell raffle tickets for the school carnival.
Carnival Spokesperson Denise McCreedy said, "We just know this is exciting for the kids...it gets them motivated."
The raffle tickets are just a dollar each and the school is hoping to sell 120,000 of them. It's a big number but it's a goal the kids are willing to shoot for. Daniel Abdulian has already sold 700, "It's a lot bigger than concert tickets."
He's looking at the bigger picture. The carnival is a huge fundraiser for the school. The money it rakes in pays for computers, book and sports programs.
Abdulian said, "Without the donations and people selling tickets we wouldn't be able to run the school and run the church and help out the community so it's a real big deal for us."
It's also a big deal for Eddie Fanucchi. He's responsible for the Bieber tickets. "It's great opportunity for them and it's a great opportunity to raise funds for the school...so it's a win win for everybody."
The school has ten tickets. The top selling student will win four of them.
two others will be a prize in a drawing at Sundays carnival and the rest will be raffled off.
You can buy a raffle ticket from any St. Anthony's student. You can also buy them at the school on Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
