Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives have released the name of the man found dead in a recently cut corn field earlier this week west of Caruthers. He has been identified as 22-year-old Cesar Rico of Fresno.

Rico’s body was found by farmworkers in the field located west of the intersection of Jameson and Mountain View. The cause of death is not being released at this time. However, his death is being treated as a murder.

Rico was last seen in the area of Divisadero and San Pablo on Wednesday, September 5th, shortly before midnight.

Homicide detectives are investigating several leads, and are asking anyone with information on this investigation to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 488-3111, or CrimeStoppers at 498-STOP(7867).
