Body Zipped in Sleeping Bag Found in Southern California Parking Lot

Sheriff's deputies discovered a dead body inside a car in the parking lot of a grocery store in Fallbrook, San Diego County, on Thursday night.

A dead body was discovered zipped up in a sleeping bag in a car at a grocery store's parking lot near San Diego on Thursday.

Deputies and fire officials were called to the Albertson's supermarket in Fallbrook, Calif., around 7:15 p.m. The body was found inside a 1997 Toyota Forerunner.

Homicide detectives later responded to the scene.

"At this point we don't know whose it is -- we don't even know if it is male or female -- just that it appears suspicious," San Diego Sheriff's Department Sgt. Patrick Yates said. "The body is dead [and] the circumstances are suspicious
