(Pres Release) Just before 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, the Clovis Unified School District called Clovis Police about some suspicious plastic beverage bottles found inside Veteran's Stadium at the Buchanan Educational Complex.
The Clovis Police bomb squad found six beverage bottles of varying sizes in the stadium. Inside the bottles was a mildly explosive mixture of chemicals. Two of the bottles had already “self detonated.” The other four were rendered safe.
No one was hurt, and no one was allowed inside the stadium until the scene had been cleared. The bomb squad collected evidence at the scene and is launching an investigation into the incident.
