Police have released new information about a man arrested for shooting at officers on Sunday night. It's the same guy police believe opened fire near Bulldog Stadium during the Fresno State game.
37-year-old Souban Soyinthisane has been arrested for leading officers on a high speed chase. Police say they were going 125 miles hour to keep up with the suspect.
The whole ordeal started on Saturday during the Fresno State Game. Police say Soyinthisane fired 36 rounds into the air from a 9 millimeter hand gun just blocks from the stadium.
No one was hit, and Soyinthinsane got away. That's until officers spotted his car late Sunday night.
When police tried to pull him over, the high speed chase began. It ended on highway 168 and Fowler when the suspect hit the center divide.
Officers say the man was wearing a bullet proof vest and carrying two guns when he was taken into custody.
Chief Dyer says, "He certainly had enough ammunition with him to be able to engage a number of officers in a shoot out. Perhaps that's what he was trying to do."
No one was hit during the shooting or the chase. Soyinthisane has been booked into the Fresno County Jail.
