CHP Officer Injured in High-Speed Chase

Three people were seriously hurt in a high-speed chase through Fresno Friday night. An accident with a 61-year-old driver brought the chase to an end.

The chase started around 10 p.m. near Blackstone and McKinley in Fresno. A gang prevention unit attempted to stop a pickup truck.

The suspect immediately sped off and slammed into a CHP cruiser. The officer suffered minor injuries.

A high-speed chase continued through Fresno for about 20 minutes.. Just before 10:30 p.m., the suspect crashed into another driver at the intersection of Bullard and Chestnut.

The driver fled into a field but was eventually spotted by a CHP helicopter and arrested. Meanwhile, the 61-year-old driv er that was hit was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
