On December 26, 2012 just after 2:00 a.m, Fresno police responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on McKinley Avenue between Brawley and Blythe avenues.

Sixteen year old David Leanos sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

During the course of the investigation, detectives determined Leanos was struck by two separate vehicles at different times. The first driver did not remain at the scene of the collision or call 911 to report it. The second driver immediately stopped and called 911.

Vehicle debris at the scene of the collision identifies the car that first hit the victim was a 2006- 2009 Toyota Camry. Evidence suggests the car sustained lower bumper and undercarriage damage.

The incident occurred in a dark area, on a two-lane road with little vehicle traffic, and there were no witnesses to the collision. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver, and vehicle involved in the fatal hit and run collision that claimed the life of David Leanos.
