It's an event some neighbors are calling a miracle. A 2-year-old out of Farmersville is swept down a canal for a half mile and survived. Alice is resting comfortably next to mom at Kaweah Delta hospital in Visalia.

She was swept away by a strong current from a canal that runs in their backyard. KSEE 24 met up with the four young men who found her and saved her life.

The young men say Alice was drifting face up in the water. She was unconscious when they pulled her out. She regained consciousness a short while later.

Mom says she's truly blessed to be able to hold her daughter again. She says she's never been more scared in her life.

"For her to be here, it's wonderful," said mother Jessica Aviles.

Alice will be kept for 48 hours in the hospital for observation.
