A southeast Fresno convenience store employee is lucky to be alive Wednesday after a strange car crash.

The accident happened at about 3:00 p.m. at the 7-11 on Church & Chestnut. The driver, a woman in her 90's, was leaving the store, but instead of hitting the brakes, she hit the gas.

Police say the store employee was pinned in the debris of the crash for a short period of time, but was freed and taken to a nearby hospital.

No word on the clerk's condition.
