A Florida woman who said she was delivering a Christmas tree to a friend may have made Santa's naughty list after a deputy spotted her driving south in U.S. 1's northbound lanes.
Some might make such Yuletide observations following the December 15 arrest of Debra Joan McSween, 59, on DUI and other charges.
A deputy about 12:45 a.m. reported he was traveling south on U.S. 1 from Midway Road when he saw a Volkswagen southbound in the northbound lanes, according to a recently released affidavit. The headlights weren't illuminated.
The deputy stopped the VW as the driver tried to make a U-turn to go north in the southbound lanes. McSween was behind the wheel.
She said she was delivering a Christmas tree to a friend. A small artificial tree was in the front passenger seat.
