2.5 tons of food was donated to the Community Food Bank by VA Central California employees. It's all part of an annual challenge hospital employees compete in to feed hungry families. That challenge, called the Honcho Exchange Labor Program (HELP) food drive, pits the hospital's 17 departments against each other to bring in the largest donation. It's a source of pride for all involved.

Al Perry of the VA Central California Health System said, "It's part of our role as a community service leader, there are a lot of hungry children, and hungry adults and older people who could use every ounce, and every morsel in every can of this food."

This was the 14th annual HELP food drive. To date, VA Central California employees have donated more than 40 tons of food to feed the valley's hungry.
