Valley congressman Dennis Cardoza has announced his resignation.
It was announced Tuesday morning he will step down at midnight Wednesday. The democrat was elected to the 18th Congressional seat back in 2002 after beating incumbent Gary Condit during the primary election.
The only reason given in the news release was "sensitive family needs."
The congressman says, "The real honor of serving in Congress is not working in historic buildings, but in laboring with so many unbelievable talented and dedicated individuals who serve our nation."
