(Press Release) Each year the County Clerk’s Office celebrates Valentine’s Day by making special arrangements for wedding couples. This is a very important day for those in love who wish to be united in matrimony. More people marry on this day than any other day of the year.

Your wedding can be as iconic as having the King himself perform the nuptials. This will be a rock-n-roll day and you could feel like you are in Graceland. A special volunteer in costume will be on hand to help celebrate your love.

County employees and volunteers will be sharing in the Valentine’s Day activities by performing marriage ceremonies at the County Clerk’s office. Each volunteer will be sworn in, issued a one day commission as Deputy Commissioner of Marriages and receive training. Volunteers will then perform civil marriage ceremonies throughout the day.

The County Clerk’s Office is located at 2221 Kern Street in Downtown Fresno. Aspiring Newlyweds are encouraged to arrive early. Customers will be taken on a first come, first serve basis and must provide a valid photo I.D. Marriage applications will be taken from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost of a public marriage license is $49.00 and $21.00 for the marriage ceremony.

The public telephone number for information on Valentine’s Day activities is 600-2575.
