An Cicero, Illinois, dad has been arrested for leaving his two young sons in a scorching hot car while he drank and took drugs, reports say.
Gerardo Oruzco, 35, was busted Friday after his 1-year-old and 3-year-old kids were spotted by a stranger strapped into their car seats without food or water on an 80-degree day.
He was charged with two counts of reckless conduct and endangering the welfare of a child and ordered held on $250,000 bail by Judge Adam Bourgeois, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Oruzco, who lives in the town of Cicero, west of Chicago, confessed he was inside a bar with a woman, drinking and using cocaine, while his children stayed outside in his vehicle.
The infants were treated for dehydration, prosecutors said in court.
