As the Dark Knight came close to rising, so did hundreds of batman fans, in Fresno.

“More excited than I've ever been. This is one of the most amazing things I've ever been to. All the fans here, everyone's bonding, it's a lot of fun,” said Batman fan Mitchell Cameron as he waited line for the movie premier.

Moviegoer and diehard Batman fanatic Christian Defendis added, “Batman means more to us than anything else. Batman is probably one of the most important things in my life right about now, at this moment.”

Hundreds began lining up at the break of dawn Thursday, just to get good seats. For Austin Kohl, the moment felt surreal, “I could barely talk right now. I'm very excited. I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time. I’ve been a diehard fan since I was a little kid.”

The Dark Knight Rises is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. For some, the excitement comes from finally getting an ending. Moviegoer Wendy Jarvi explained, “It's been a long time coming and it will be interesting whether what Christopher Nolan ends up doing.”

For others, the excitement comes from simply being a Batman fan.

“I can't be the other super heroes, but maybe I can be Batman. He has no powers. He uses his strength and powers and that's why I want to be Batman one day,” said Defendis.
