Dead Man in Parked Truck Ticketed Twice Before Being Found

March 10, 2013 Updated Mar 10, 2013 at 1:17 PM PDT

A man who was found dead in his pickup truck had been given two parking tickets in the days after he died.

Jayme Earle, 26, and his car were parked up in a Michigan street on Tuesday afternoon and was given a ticket for stopping in a no-parking zone.

Less than 48 hours later another one was issued and jammed into the driver's side door.

Police in Kalamazoo, Michigan say they are unable to tell whether Mr Earle's body was in the car when either ticket had been given.

It wasn't until a passerby called 911 on Thursday and thought it strange the car had been parked in the road since the previous day.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officials went to look for themselves and found Mr Earle unresponsive and slumped over in the passenger's seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Graham Foley who lives nearby told News 8 that he believes it's ridiculous the body wasn't found sooner - especially after the first ticket was given.

'A second ticket means you need to look, check up on what's going on, instead of add another ticket. A ticket on top of a ticket is absurd.'

Police say there were no signs of foul play and the cause of death is currently unknown.
