Deputies Looking for Attempted Murder Suspect

(Press Release) Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating 20-year-old Jose Ruben Saldivar, a suspect in an attempted murder in Biola on Monday.

Monday night, shortly after 6:00 p.m., deputies responded to a shots fired call near the intersection of Biola & “B” St in the town of Biola.

When deputies arrived, they found a 20-year-old man who had sustained a serious gunshot wound. He had apparently been a passenger in a car with four others when Saldivar walked up and started shooting at them. Saldivar then fled on foot. None of the other subjects were struck by the gunfire.

The victim was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. He is currently listed in stable condition.

Wednesday night, with the assistance of MAGEC and SWAT, search warrants regarding the case were served at two locations in the town of Biola. One in the 12500 block of “E” St, and the second in the 5000 block of N Biola.

Saldivar, who also goes by the street name, “JoJo”, is a self-proclaimed street gang member. He is described as 5' 10" tall, weighing about 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder and should be considered armed & dangerous.
